New in IBDComfort: Meal Plans for Healthy Days Too

Staying consistent with nutrition is one of the hardest parts of living with IBD. Some days are unpredictable, and on others you feel completely fine, but your food choices still matter.
That’s why we’ve expanded IBDComfort to support a new way of using the app: Healthy mode.

Whether you’re currently in remission or simply having a stable period with no symptoms, you can now register as Healthy and get meal suggestions without any IBD specific restrictions. This gives you more freedom, more flexibility, and more variety when you need it.

Why we added a Healthy profile

Many users, and even several of our own friends without IBD, asked if they could use the app for everyday meal planning. At the same time, we know that people in remission often still prefer lighter, IBD-friendly meals, while others have periods where they feel completely fine and want full food freedom.
That’s why we introduced the Healthy profile. It lets IBD patients switch to fully unrestricted meals when they want to, and it also makes the app easy to recommend to people around them who don’t have IBD but want simple, healthy meal ideas.

Healthy mode lets you:

  • eat freely without IBD-specific filtering,
  • explore a wider range of meals,
  • switch between restrictive and non-restrictive phases depending on how you feel.

It’s a small change on the surface, but a big one for everyday life.

How meal recommendations behave now

  • Healthy: unrestricted meals
  • Remission: gentle but varied meals
  • Relapse: simplified, low-irritant meals
  • Crohn’s / UC: type-specific adjustments still apply when not in Healthy mode

This keeps the app adaptive to your condition, while giving you more control on stable days.

A few behind the scenes improvements

We also took some time to tidy up and optimize the app under the hood. You won’t notice these changes directly, but they make the whole experience smoother and help us roll out future updates more easily.

More improvements are coming

We’re continuing to refine the experience based on your feedback.
If you ever have suggestions, ideas, or something you’d like to see next, you can always reach us through the app, through our website contact form or simply by writing to our email [email protected].

Thank you for using IBDComfort, and for being part of a community that supports each other through every phase, good or bad. ❤️
